This mews development in North London provides a mixture of 9 highly sustainable residential and live/work units
The design maximises the potential value of the site by increasing the developable area with little impact on the neighbouring properties. The designs also substantially improve the environmental conditions of the existing light industrial site providing green roofs and a garden feel.
The stepped profile of the building blocks allows for the formation of a cascade of ‘green’ roof spaces and courtyards at differing levels, providing areas for wild flower meadows to encourage the re-settlement of native species and reinforce our highly sustainable and biodiverse approach.
The proposed development incorporates many energy-saving features, including photovoltaic cells and ground source heat pumps. In addition, the design proposes a water collection system to minimise the use of clean water resources.
Access to the site is extremely limited, constraining a traditional construction approach. As a result, the construction logistics and sequencing have been carefully planned and are possible via off site and prefab assemblies for the main elements including frame and envelope.
