House & Garden
(Islington apartment)
February 2009

“The sharp, elegant finish of this reconfigured apartment ensures that it's large, open-plan spaces offer flexible, comfortable and stylish living.'I thought it might feel too big and too cold, but thanks to Jonathan's simple, elegant designs and sound selection of furniture and finishes, it has turned out warm and homely'.

James MacNamara has an interesting theory about architects. 'They fall into three distinct categories', he explains. 'Some just listen to you and do what you say. Others don't listen to you at all. And some you just click with'. James consulted more than 20 architects before settling on Jonathan Clark. 'It was very much a two-way process with Jonathan', recalls James. 'He wasn't afraid to adapt his own ideas to incorporate mine, or overrule me when necessary'.”
